Modable (“we”, “us”) turns plain-English descriptions into Minecraft mods. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: we collect only what the service needs to run, we never sell it, and you can delete everything from your account page at any time.

What Modable does

Modable is an AI tool that writes Minecraft: Java Edition mods. You describe a feature in plain English and Modable writes the Java code for a Fabric mod, compiles it, and gives you the .jar file and its source code.

Modable only produces Minecraft mods: their code, and the pixel-art textures and blocky 3D models that go inside them. It does not create photos, video, audio, or any content that depicts real people.

What we collect

Account data. Your email address. If you sign up with email, a hashed password (we never see or store it in plain text). If you use Sign in with Google, the name, email address, profile picture and account ID that Google shares (see “Google user data” below).

Content you create. The mod descriptions (prompts) you type, your chats and their names, the mods built from them (.jar files and source code), and the build log shown while a mod is built.

Usage data. How many mods you've built this month and per-build details such as duration and cost, so plan limits can be enforced and the service kept running.

Payment data. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe gives us a customer ID and your subscription status.

Abuse-prevention data. The IP address you signed up from, used to limit free trials per network.

Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept by our hosting provider for security and debugging.

How we use it

To run the service: turn your descriptions into mods, keep them so you can download and change them later, and enforce plan limits.

To manage your account and subscription, and to contact you about them (for example about billing or security).

To keep the service secure and reliable: preventing abuse, fixing errors, and monitoring build success.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your prompts, your mods or your account data to train AI models.

Google user data

What we access. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID with Modable. These come from Google's basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). Modable does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, YouTube or any other Google service, and cannot read them.

How we use it. Only to create your Modable account, sign you in, keep your account secure, and contact you about your account. Your email address is what identifies your account.

How we store it. In our authentication database, run by Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only Modable's servers can read it; other users can't see it.

How we share it. We don't sell, rent or trade Google user data, don't use it for advertising, and don't share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers in section 5 that store it on our behalf, or where the law requires it.

AI and Google user data. Google user data is never sent to an AI model and is never used to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models. The AI that writes your mod only receives the mod descriptions you type and the mod's own code. Modable does not use Google APIs or Google user data to generate any media, and never creates images of real people, including AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery.

Deleting it. You can delete your account, including the data Google shared, at any time from the account page. You can also remove Modable’s access in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions; that stops future Google sign-ins but doesn’t delete your Modable account.

Modable’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who processes your data

Modable runs on a small number of providers, each handling only what its part of the service needs:

Supabase (sign-in, database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), E2B (the isolated build machines where your mod is compiled), DeepSeek (the AI model that writes the mod code; it receives your mod descriptions and the mod's code, never your name, email or Google data), and Google (only if you use Sign in with Google).

Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy and processes data only to deliver its part of the service.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small set of essential cookies to keep you signed in. They are required for the service to work.

Your browser's local storage keeps your preferences (default Minecraft version, font) and a cached copy of your chat list so the workspace opens instantly. Your chats themselves are stored on our servers so they follow you across devices.

When you use the Google sign-in button, Google loads it from its own servers and may set its own cookies, covered by Google's privacy policy.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep data

Your account, chats and mods are kept while your account exists. Build workspaces that sit unused for 30 days are deleted (your downloadable mods and their source stay), and detailed build logs are trimmed over time.

If you delete your account, your profile, chats, mods, mod files and build workspaces are permanently deleted and any active subscription is cancelled. To stop free-trial abuse, your email address and sign-up IP address are kept on a block list for 365 days and then removed.

Payment records are kept by Stripe as tax and financial law requires.

Your rights

You can download any mod you built at any time from your workspace.

You can delete your account and its data yourself from the account page, no support ticket needed.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have further rights: to access, correct, export or restrict the processing of your data. Contact us and we'll honor them.

Children

Modable is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date below and, for significant changes, announce it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
